The Governor of Jalisco highlights the plans for a new Civil Hospital in Puerto Vallarta and another in Tlajomulco, aimed at enhancing healthcare and education in the region.


New Hospital Initiatives in Jalisco

The Government of Jalisco together with the University of Guadalajara has recognized the work of Karla Planter Pérez, who has been the rector of the University Center of the Highlands (CUALTOS) for the past six years. During this time, her leadership and professionalism have left a mark on the community, being highlighted by the governor of Jalisco and the General Rector of the UdeG.

In the framework of the sixth report of activities of Karla Planter Pérez, the achievements reached at CUALTOS have been emphasized. Among them is the increase in student enrollment, the rise in the number of researchers, the consolidation of an agricultural production program, and the creation of the Center for Research and Innovation for Organizations (CIIO). Furthermore, the notable growth in the approval of the EGEL-Ceneval since 2021 has been highlighted.

Pablo Lemus, Governor of Jalisco, has reiterated his willingness to work jointly with the UdeG, with the aim of promoting models that lead students to excellence. The proposal of a hospital-school model has been emphasized that will strengthen the training of medical students in a professional and real environment, bringing them closer to excellence in their academic training.

The institutional relationship between the Government of Jalisco and the UdeG focuses on respect, joint work, and obtaining satisfactory results. The possibility of constructing a new Civil Hospital in Puerto Vallarta and another in Tlajomulco has been mentioned, projects that seek to support models that promote the training of talent and human capital in the region.

In summary, starting from April 1, Karla Planter Pérez will take on the role of general rector of the University of Guadalajara, becoming the first woman to lead this institution.
